You're Invited: 'Meet The Makers' Event

The Tessuti team invite you to MEET THE MAKERS - the second of our series of fun and interactive evenings spent meeting the wonderful local makers and creators behind the works we admire, including Eleanor from Petite Kitchen, local florist Lydia Reusser, and Rachel Carley of Rachel Carley Ceramics.

To tempt you even further, Lydia has just returned from Floret Flower Farm in Skagit Valley, Washington...

"Visiting Erin's farm Floret has been on my must-do list since I discovered her blog online a few years ago. Floret has been at the forefront of promoting seasonal and sustainable flower farming and is very influential in the slow flower movement.

Learning many of her tricks and techniques has been invaluable! Using in-season flowers allows for a more natural, less structured style of floristry and the inclusion of elements we may not find in a conventional florist shop - fruit, berries, blossom and grasses to name a few.

Spring is a wonderful time for flowers and I’m excited to bring some fresh skills on how to create a natural unstructured style table arrangements. I will be running through how to choose and work with seasonal blooms and the importance of using locally grown New Zealand flowers. Combining seasonal blooms with garden foliage, I will demonstrate techniques for creating a natural whimsical-style floral centrepiece to complete the table at your next dinner party."
