Alpine Splendor Cushion 60x60

$353.00

Description

Epicea (trans. Spruce) is part of the Refuge 2 Collection by the Parisian textile house Nobilis. This large scale landscape image of snow-capped mountains and a grove of spruce trees beside a lake is based on an unknown (but we think spectacular) painting from the 1950s. We think a better name for this fabric might be Alpine Splendour! This collection celebrates retreat: offering vibrant textiles to curl up with on a sofa: in the mountains, the countryside, near a lake or by the beach.

In 1928, Adolphe Halard opened the Nobilis boutique at 29 rue Bonaparte in Paris, between the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the fine arts school, Ecole des Beaux Arts. By surrounding himself with renowned painters such as Suzanna Fontan, Harlard began designing collections of fabrics and wallpapers that sought to capture the spirit of contemporary artists. Nobilis has established an international reputation for the quality and finish of its textiles as well as their technical innovation. The large pattern repeat on this particular design ensures every cushion panel in this fabric is slightly different, making each one a unique work of art.
